Heirloom of German origin.. Large dark pink fruit that can reach a pound and beefsteak type with an irregular shape.

Heirloom which would be of German origin. According to the Seed Savers Yearbook, the seed would have been brought back from Germany during the first world war by certain Mr. Straw of West Virginia who would have then transmitted it to the Gumm family which presented it to the Seed Saver Yearbook in 1980.

Large dark pink fruit of +/-300 grams and up to one pound, beefsteak type with irregular shape and curved shoulders.

Fleshy beefy flesh with a creamy texture and very few seeds. Excellent sweet flavor and very well balanced.
