Very old heritage dating back to the late 19th century, introduced in 1959 by Gleckers Seedmen of Metamora, Ohio. Grown for over a century by a few families in the mountainous regions of West Virginia.
Large, beefsteak-like fruit weighing 400 grams to 1 kilo, slightly flattened, with pronounced ribbing at the shoulders which tend to curve the larger the fruit. Bunch of 6 to 10 fruits.
Pink colour with greenish yellow shoulders.
Dense and firm red beef flesh, mulitloges containing few seeds. Balanced flavour of medium quality.
Large plant, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Regular production from mid-season to frost.
