Variety heirloom of David Pendegrass, descendant of the Tidwell family, who held it from his maternal grandmother, dates back to 1920, Tennessee. Featured in the Seed Savers Year book of 2004.
Large pink beefsteak type fruit from 400 grams to over a kilo. Irregular shape mostly flattened and deeply ribbed at the shoulders, sometimes lobed. Deep depression at the stem attachment, trace of umbilicus at one point.
Dense and juicy beefy flesh with few seeds. Excellent mild and sweet flavor.
Variety fearing excess of humidity but adapting to dry conditions.
