Variety whose origin is unknown. The seed was sent to Craig LeHouillier by Don Sparks with the only indication "yellow with regular leaves". Craig having cultivated it realized that in reality it was pale orange with potato leaves and baptized it Sparks in the honor of his donor. Listed in the Seed Savers Yearbook.

Orange-yellow fruit of 150 to 400 grams, slightly flattened beefsteak type and ribbed at the top. Deep and wide corky depression at the peduncular attachment.

Firm and fleshy orange beef flesh. Very good flavor.

Variety well adapted to cool climate regions.
