SHAMROCK

Recent, USA origin. Green fruit with amber coloured apical part when ripe. Green flesh, very good flavour.

SKU: 1705 Category:

A recent variety, F9 in 2015 so should be stable, comes from a line resulting from a cross of 'Free red house standing' and 'Cherokee green' made by John Biedler and stabilised by Blane Horton, Jackson, Mississippi, USA. The same line provided 'Jackass green dwarf' which looks like a lot of the same variety except for the foliage, one being regular rugosa and the other potato.

The fruit weighs 100 to 150 grams, flattened at the poles and slightly ribbed at the top. Green When Riped (GWR) type, with amber covering on the apical part when ripe.

Green flesh with very good flavour.

Dwarf variety with indeterminate growth. Can be grown in containers.
