It held the world record for the hottest pepper from 1994 to 2006 with 577,000 Scoville units.

Fruit with a hanging, lantern-like port, pod +/- crumpled and wrinkled, 4.5 cm long and 3.5 cm wide.

Ripens from green to red.

Depending on the growing conditions, the size of the plant varies from 0.70 to 1.20 meters.
