A US variety developed by FJ Pritchard as a cross between 'Marglobe' and 'Cooper's Special'. Introduced in 1930 for its disease resistance qualities under the name 'Scarlet Topper' and renamed in 1932 in honour of FJ Pritchard, who died the previous year.
Bright red fruit weighing 150-250 grams, slightly flattened and swollen at the shoulders. Large depression at the stem attachment.
Dense, full flesh with a sweet, slightly bland taste.
