Recent variety developed by Tom Wagner, USA. Pomehana means "hot love" in Hawaiian, which gives us "hot love apple" if we translate his name entirely. According to Tom Wagner: "Pohema apple is a play on words, just like her, she plays on our taste buds". This variety was bred over 20 years ago from a line of F2 "Green Grape Pineapple".
Small, more or less heart-shaped fruit weighing 100 to 150 grams and 6 cm in diameter.
Two-tone skin, shades of orange-yellow and pink.
Juicy, orange-yellow flesh with pink veins in the center.
