SKU: 972 Category:

Variety developed by Professor Abelardo Piovano in 1954, National University in Argentina.

Fruit weighs 100 to 250 grams, round and slightly ribbed at the shoulders. Deep and wide depression at the peduncular attachment. Clusters of 6 to 8 fruits. Hard and velvety skin with good resistance to bursting, uniform bright red colour without any trace of green.

Firm, fleshy, multi-lobed flesh with many seeds. Sweet flavour with a surprisingly delicious hint of acidity.

Very good shelf life, one can even speak of maturing.

A variety with great qualities of adaptation to the climate (exceptional resistance to drought) as well as to fungal diseases in tropical areas, being practically the only variety that can be grown in these latitudes.
