Variety originating from East Palestine, Ohio, USA. Listed in the Seed Savers Yearbook of 1986.
Large red fruit weighing 200 to 900 g, variable in shape, even misshapen for the largest, most often round with a heart-shaped tendency, with a more or less discreet ribbing on the upper 2/3. Clusters of 2 to 3 units. Deep, corky and possibly wide depression at the stem attachment.
Juicy, densely textured beefy flesh, small pockets with very few seeds. Excellent flavour.
Versatile variety that can be used for fresh eating, cooking or drying.
Large, wispy foliage, indeterminate growth. Good mid-season production.
