NOIRE DE COSE-BOEUF - BLACK FROM COSE-BOEUF

Variety subject to controversy! Fruit weighing 150 to 250 grams, 6 to 8 cm in diameter, very flattened, strongly ribbed.

SKU: 1642 Category:

Variety subject to lively controversy between collectors. For some it would be the same one as Purple Calabash and for others an obtention of a certain André. Cultures made in parallel with Purple Calabash would have shown that they are indeed the same varieties. Nevertheless, it was presented to the Seed Savers Yearbook of 2004. Solana seeds being one of the rare sites to market it.

Fruit from 150 to 250 grams, from 6 to 8 cm of diameter, very flattened, strongly ribbed, even ribbed on all the body and with the more or less curved shoulders.

Purple-red to purple color, darker at the shoulders.

Wine-colored flesh that quickly becomes soft with an original winey flavor.

Fruit to be eaten "al dente" otherwise it loses its flavor and becomes mushy.

Good resistance to diseases, especially mildew.

NB: there is a hamlet of Cose-Boeuf located on the commune of Fontaine en Sologne 41250.
