This variety originated in the Azores and was brought to the USA by Anthony Neves, a resident of Boston, Massachusetts, who selected the largest fruit year after year. The seed was obtained in 1999 by Carolyn Homme through Chuck Perry, who in turn obtained it from a cousin of the founder of Neptune Récolte Co. The latter having obtained it from Neves himself in exchange for seaweed fertilizer.
Large red fruit weighing over 300 grams, beefsteak-like, round, slightly flattened and ribbed at the top.
Very wide but shallow peduncular attachment, trace of umbilicus. 8 to 10 sepals.
Full, juicy flesh with a rich, flavorful taste.
Extensive development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Average mid-season production.
