An heirloom variety originally from Mexico, brought to the USA by a Mexican family living in the Midwest, introduced to the SSE in 1996 by Carolyn Homme.

Large, beefsteak-like fruit weighing 300 to 500 grams, pink, round and more or less ribbed at the top. Deep depression at stem attachment, trace of umbilicus marked by a tiny dot.

Dense beef flesh with few seeds.

Excellent sweet flavor.

Large development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.

Good second-season production.

 

NB: There is a variant that produces "Mexico red" fruit.
