A fixed variety originating in the USA, an improvement of Ponderosa Golden, introduced in 1948 by the Burgess company together with Improved colossal red, Improved colossal Crimson and Improved colossal orange.

Large, beefsteak-like fruit weighing 180-400 grams, flattened and heavily ribbed at the top.
Yellow colour with a pink blush on the apical part when ripe.
Yellow beef flesh with pink marbling in the centre. Good flavour.
Good production, but over a short period of time.
