An old and rare Amish heirloom whose original seed came from a certain Homer living in Delaware in the USA, the latter specifying that the origin of the variety was German. Featured in the Seed Saver Yearbook 2009.

Fruit 240 to 600 grams, heart-shaped and fleshy, almost as wide as high, sometimes with a ribbing, limited to the upper part, more or less marked depending on the size of the fruit. Skin bright red with greenish marks on the shoulders.

Dense beefy flesh with very few seeds. Suitable for making sauces and for fresh consumption. Rich, sweet and well-balanced flavour.

Large, wispy foliage, indeterminate growth.

Generous production in the second half of the season.
