A very old and historically important variety, developed and introduced in 1892 by Alexander Livingston.

Fruit weighs 120-250 grams, round, slightly flattened with a discreet ribbing limited to the shoulders. Smooth, orange-yellow skin with a pink blush on the underside when ripe.

Juicy, beefy flesh with a mild, sweet taste.

The plant is very large and produces until frost.

Note that there is another variety with the same name which is an improvement of this one: Golden Queen USDA strain.
