A heirloom variety from the Gillogly, West Virginia family, who have been growing it for over 80 years. Featured in the 1996 Seed Savers Yearbook.
Large, dark pink, beefsteak-like fruit weighing 250-500 grams, flattened and more or less heavily ribbed at the top. Clusters of 2 to 3 fruits. Depression at the peduncular attachment is deep, moderately wide and corky.
Fleshy and dense beef flesh with few seeds. Very good flavour.
Good productivity.
