GIANT BELGIUM
Questionable origin, probably American. Large pink fruit, round and slightly flattened, with a discreet ribbed shoulder.
Variety of more or less unknown origin, it is thought to have originated in Ohio, Maryland, Tennessee or Pennsylvania.
Synonyms: Giant belgium - Giant Belgium Pink - belge géante - Belgian Giant - Belgischer Riese.
Large, round, slightly flattened, pink fruit with discrete ribs on the shoulders. Some fruits can reach a kilo. Strong depression at the stem attachment.
Exceptionally tasty beefy flesh, delicate and sweet without any acidity. May have been used in Belgium to produce wine in the past.
Late season variety, productive and fast growing +/-2.20m
