A fixed variety from the 1800s originating in Germany and cultivated by Mennonite communities in the state of Virginia during the 1880s.

Synonym: Golden German.

Fruit weighs 300-600 grams, orange-yellow with red streaks and light green shoulders that turn yellow only when fully ripe. Round, slightly flattened shape with little ribbing on the shoulders. The depression at the stalk is medium to large. The umbilicus is in the form of a very scarred line.

The flesh is marbled yellow and contrasts well with the colour of the skin. Sweet and delicious taste.
