Variety originating from the USA. Seed offered in 1990 to Gary Ibsen (owner of Tomatofest) by a gardener in Boone County, West Virginia, who told him that he had been growing this variety for 40 years and that he had inherited it from an uncle in Tennessee.
Orange-yellow fruit weighing 150-350 grams, round beefsteak type, noticeably flattened at the poles, more or less pronounced ribbing at the top and rippled shoulders.
Fleshy and juicy beefy flesh. Excellent flavour reminiscent of tropical fruits with a hint of bitterness.
Large, potato-like foliage, indeterminate growth.
Good mid-season production (+/- 75 days).
