ECKERT POLISH (beefsteak)
Native to Poland. Large pink fruit weighing 200 to 600 grams, slightly flattened and with shoulders.
Heirloom variety from Poland, introduced in the 1992 Seed Savers Yearbook.
Large pink fruit, 200-600 grams, slightly flattened beefsteak type, with rounded and more or less ribbed shoulders. Deep, corky and wide depression at the stem attachment.
Very dense beefy flesh, small pockets with few seeds. Excellent sweet taste with a slight acidity.
Very good mid-season production.
Note that there is another variety with the same name in circulation, but it is oblong with a pear-shaped tendency.
