Very old US heirloom. Fruit of 120 to 200 grams, red, round with a rippled beginning.

A heirloom variety, developed by George Sparks of Salem, New Jersey and marketed by Johnson Stokes in 1900. It is believed to be a descendant of the "Stone" variety introduced in 1891 by Alexander Livingstone.

Synonyms: Earlina , Avon early , Early avon.

Fruit 120 to 200 grams, red, round with a rippled top, in clusters of 6 to 10.

Sweet flavour, juicy flesh. Slight tendency to crack in heavy rain.

A vigorous growing variety, well suited to cool or short season areas.
