Variety obtained by exchange with a Lithuanian collector, who provided me only with its translated name "Délice", probably originating from Russia or the Baltic States.
Very large red fruit, from 500 g to 1 kg, round beefsteak-like, ribbed on the upper half, with more or less rounded shoulders.
Dense, full flesh, very small cavities containing few seeds. Delicious sweet flavor.
Wide-growing plant, sparse regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Regular production from mid-season, few fruits, 6 to 8, but only large ones exceeding 500 g.
NB: there is a variety originating in the USA known as "Delicious", bred in the 1960s, but which would have nothing to do with this one.
