A very old heirloom variety from the USA. Created and developed by James Chalk of Norristown, Pennsylvania, introduced commercially in 1899/1900.

Scarlet red fruit weighing 120-250 grams and measuring +/-5/6 cm in height and +/-6/8 cm in diameter, round and smooth, slightly flattened at the poles. Depression at the peduncular attachment shallow and wide. Clusters of 3 to 5 units.

Fleshy flesh with a creamy texture and very small pockets. Very good balanced sweet flavour with a hint of acidity.

Robust plant with medium development and dense foliage.
