Fixed variety originating from Crimea on the Black Sea, presented in the Seed Savers Yearbook of 1990.
Fruit of the beefsteak type from 200 to 400 grams, round slightly flattened with a more or less pronounced ribbing according to the size of the fruit.
Dark skin color with dark green shoulders, becoming black at maturity. Needs heat to really turn black, otherwise remains dark purple.
Beefy flesh with a beautiful texture. Rich, smoky, excellent flavor.
Vigorous plant with great development, very dense regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Good and regular production. Variety adapting well to a cool climate or a short season.
