A fixed variety from the Ukraine, listed in the GNIS catalog. One of the 100 best tomatoes mentioned in Carolyn J. Homme's book "100 heirloom tomatoes for American garden".

Fruit 200 to 400 grams, beefsteak-like, flattened at the poles and, depending on size, more or less ribbed at the top and with rounded, even curved shoulders.

Dark red color, with dark green shoulders. Medium-sized, corky depression at peduncular attachment. Bulging umbilicus, sometimes very tortured.

Very dark red-brown flesh, sweet, rich flavor, dark green gel.

Large development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.

Good, regular production from mid-season to frost.
