A "competition" variety developed in the 1990s by Minnie Zaccaria in New Jersey, USA. Resulting from a cross between two old large-fruited varieties, one red and one pink, their names never specified, and after a selection and stabilization process spanning some 9 generations of fruit. The weight record for this variety is 3257 grams, achieved in 2009 by Nick Harp!

Fire-red fruit, generally weighing 1 to 2 kilos, beefsteak-like, variable in shape, often even misshapen, with strongly curved shoulders.

Thick, juicy, beefy flesh. Unlike most large tomatoes, this one has a pleasant, mild flavor.

Very vigorous plant with a wide spread that can exceed 3 meters, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.

Good production, starting as early as +/- 70 days, with the bulk of production in the second half of the season.
