Rare variety, originating from Belmonte, mainly cultivated in its region of origin, Calabria, Italy. (translation: 'True Belmonte of Calabria'). This variety has the particularity of presenting 2 different types of large fruit in terms of shape:
-Type1: rarely symmetrical heart-shaped, blushing pink when fully ripe, the red being more marked on the apical part. Presence of a longitudinal scar which joins the peduncular attachment to the apical part.
-Type2: beefsteak, round slightly flattened and very ribbed, often much larger than the heart-shaped type often exceeding the kilo. Presence also of the same longitudinal scar. Pink in color then red when fully ripe, especially on the apical part.
For both types:
Fleshy and firm flesh containing very few seeds.
Sweet, sweet and fragrant flavor devoid of acidity.
Plant with great development, fine stems, scanty regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Generous production from mid-season, good homogeneity in fruit size, only big ones!
