A variety that was declared extinct almost a century ago! Formerly cultivated in Leuville sur Orge in Essonne, where there were once many market gardeners who supplied the nearby capital. Already mentioned in 1895 in an edition of Vilmorin's "vegetable plants". At the beginning of the XXth century it seemed doomed to disappear as it was overtaken by more recent varieties better adapted to the demands of the time.
Fruit of 100 to 200 grams, round with a slight ribbing at the top (same shape as "grosse rouge").
Crimson red skin, almost purple when fully ripe. Bunches of 3 to 6 fruits.
Juicy flesh with the flavor of old fashioned tomatoes.
Very good mid-season production.
Plant with average development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
